App - very dark, oil colored beer. No head really to speak of. Almost a slight brown tinge on the edges, kind of the beers weak point here. It's no looker.
Smell - Chocolate, sweet caramel and toffee, roasty.
Taste - Chocolate, alcohol, caramel, toffee, roastiness, burnt sugar.
mouthfeel - slightly viscous, could probably improve here.
overall - pretty good beer. It masks the alcohol fairly well. Chocolate is not over the top like some other chocolate beers I've had, but it is still present. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a good stout with chocolate in it, and not necessarily a straight up chocolate stout. It's pretty dry. It might have an excess of roasted malts that makes it slightly astringent.
