While City Star slings beer in downtown Berthoud, Ursa Major slings engines on the outskirts. Ursa and City Star came together to brew Full Duration Juicy Pale Ale featuring Comet, Strata and Galaxy hops. A beer that will out of the STRATosphere, chasing COMETs through the GALAXY (if you catch our drift here.)

16oz canned on 5/18/23 (Got from a friend who worked at Ursa Major)
On the pour one finger of fine, off white head, prmed then slowly dissipated to a very thick ring of bubbles around the glass. Big rings of lacing try to form, but then sag down. The body is a brown to amber with a solid haze.
Aroma is solid, and like a slightly juicier SNPA. The light caramel sweetness is there as well as a light piney herbal hop, but most of the hop character is quite fruity, some pineapple and orange comes through before the more traditional hop finish. Good, slightly traditional, and interesting.
Flavor is even closer to SNPA. Again is is slightly fruitier, but the presence of some amber malts and the light but present bitterness really do tame this a bit back to standard American Pale Ale characteristics. The fruit is similar to what I found in the aroma, but less pronounced. Very clean, balanced, and easy drinking, especially for being described as a Juicy Pale Ale.
The feel is surprisingly dry for the malty fullness and haziness, but that makes it quite crisp and drinkable. The finish is long, but not in a malty-syrupy way, but more in a mild but present slightly dry and bitter way. Easy drinking & refreshing, while still feeling satisfying and full.
Overall this beer impressed me for being a microbrewery in a smaller Northern Colorado town. I will say it is verging on an SNPA clone with a bit of creative freedom in the hops, but the fact they pulled it off is still impressive.
This beer may still be available in their taproot, but cans were only distributed to Ursa Major employees.
