2011 vintage.
Pours an opaque onyx with a trace of cocoa head.
Roast grain, cocoa, coffee, and sherry form the aroma.
Flavor reveals more oxidized sherry notes, with a nice deeply toasted malt backbone, which is accented by coffee roast character. There's a slight chocolate sweetness throughout.
Body is full, with almost no carbonation, and light alcohol warmth.
Haven't had this one fresh, but it's pretty tasty, as compared to the other two of their beers I've tried. The oxidation may have helped.

The bottle says stout porter, which does not make That said, I liked this beer.
Appearance - The beer was dark in color and resembled a stout.
Smell - The smoke was the most immediate impression. Aside from this dark chocolate was noted.
Taste - My initial reaction was that this tastes like a chocolate bbq. If that does not get the attention of every meat-eating American, I am not sure what will. The smokiness in the beginning is leveled by the chocolate.
Overall - I did not bring it to the bottle share, but I liked it.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #64 (May 2012):
LOOK: Black, opaque, thin with tiny-bubbled lace
SMELL: Charcoal, burnt sugar, faint smoke, dark chocolate, dried plums, highly toasted bread, nougat
TASTE: Silky, creamy, full bodied, mild chocolate, toasted grain, soft char, burnt raisins, mildly estery, cocoa powder, ripe fruit twang, semisweet chocolaty finish
This brand certainly came from left field, boasting that it brews the Czech Republic’s first “craft beer.” A thick brew all around, definitely something to split with a friend or share with a group, and possibly cook with sweets.

A: The beer is jet black in color and has a light to moderate amount of carbonation visible near the edges of the glass. It poured with just a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of dark malts and licorice are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of molasses and dark roasted malts along with some notes of chocolate towards the finish as well as some hints of licorice. A light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied but quite thin on the palate with a low to moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink, but lacks the body and boldness of roasted malts and bitterness that are most often associated with Baltic Porters.

Poured into a stein a deep dark chocolate brown with a thinner beige head atop.Aromas seemed a little off to me,somewhat tinny with molasses and a bit of sourness, some chocolate peaks thru as it warms a little.Flavors of molasses and rum-like alcohol stand out mainly, there is some earthy/woody dryness in the finish, not much chocolate but the flavors are decent.Well I picked it up todaynot knowing what I was getting,I love a good Baltic Porter....this ehh it's not that good.

Fills a tulip glass with a rich, dark brown, almost black, beer. The thin, short-lived, dark chestnut head leaves no lace. Viscosity is clearly evident with each swirl.
The aroma is dominated by chocolate syrup with molasses and lightly roasted malt. Cocoa powder is revealed with warmth.
A light chocolate flavor is accompanied by light black coffee. This is quite sweet with bitterness relief in the finish. Warmth brings out some caramelized sugar.
This is a medium bodied beer with soft carbonation, watery texture, and well-concealed alcohol.
Easy to consume, but lacks character. Overall it is still a fine diversion.

Pours a deep brown body beneath the foamy tan head which dissolves to leave almost no lacing behind.
Rich roasted malt aromas float from the glass with only hints of dark chocolate to follow. Nice barley as well, certainly more porter than stout so far.
The flavor is surprisingly good with a fair balance of roasted and dark chocolate malt. Given the heavy roasted notes the chocolate flavors seem extra bitter, yet tasty.
Medium to fuller in body with muted carbonation and quite smooth for the generous charred malt flavor.
Not much of an expectation for a Czech stout/porter but this was very nice. Great flavor and roasted just right.
