750 ml bottle for three 8 ounce pours (mixing my metric and imperial!). Bottle purchased Oct 2019 and pretty sure had been on the shelf for a time,
Pours a bright clear copper with finger of pale beige head.
Aroma is slightly fruity with notes toffee, dark fruits, brown sugar and vanilla. Some fruity floral hops, and a touch oaky.
Taste is sweet and malty - raisin, brown sugar, toffee, dark fruits and vanilla, highlighted by the oaky bourbon and earthy hop notes.
Medium bodied - sweet but not at all syrupy, with moderate carbonation - mildly boozy and warming. Very nice.

Aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels.
Appearance - Pours a copper red with two fingers of frothy tan head.
Smell - bourbon, oak, vanilla, earthy, leafy, and floral hops, toffee malts, dark fruits of raisin and fig, and earthy yeast.
Taste - bourbon, oak, and vanilla upfront. The earthy, leafy, and floral hops alongside the toffee malts, and dark fruits of raisin and fig come through next. The earthy yeast rounds out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes chewy with the bourbon, oak, vanilla, and toffee malts lingering.
Overall - A bold and unique barleywine that is quite flavourful on its own but the bourbon barrel adds a nice complexity to the brew. A true sipper.
