Bought a bottle of this from Tanakaya in Mejiro, Tokyo. Poured into a Rochefort goblet. Thin head on this Belgian brew which leaves a surprisingly little amount of lacing. Also not much bubbling up and forming swirls like a pretty Belgian does. The mouthfeel of this beer is amazingly smooth, foaming in the mouth a bit before going down smooth and leaving a pleasant aftertaste. However, as Belgian ales go, the smell and taste are both a bit bland, leaving this behind other amazing styles. As beers go, this is still an amazing brew, but compared with its cousin Belgian ales, it falls a bit shorter.
