Tasted this beer by half-pint at my London East End local on 30/04/05. The beer is one of the guest ales at the pub.
Appearance: comes in amber colour, with very fine carbonation and at just right temperature; no beerhead detected, alas.
Smell: lightly hoppy and nutty-malty nose, very straight forward note for this Best Bitter.
Taste & Aftertaste: understated nutty flavour runs beneath initially flat palate...leaving a welcome bitter-sweet maltiness plus delicate hoppy taste at the back of my tongue. Quite light-bodied against its alcoholic strength, yet overall well-balanced and quite refreshing.
Drinkability: very quaffable as a summer bitter, if only it could be richer in flavour as I would like a Best Bitter to be.
