Wee heavy aged in bourbon barrels, then finished in rum barrels.
Huge smack of harsh rum to the face when it's cold, then as it warms more bourbon, brown sugar, and some of the scotch ale come out. The barrels overpower the beer, a lot of booze and not really rounded, still enjoyable.

Thanks to Thomas for this one!
Murky brown body, thin broken skim that rapidly fades to the edges. No lacing.
Aroma is the only decent thing going here, sweet with some woody barrel traces, light spiciness vaguely identifiable as rum.
Taste is fairly oxidized, sticky malt and muddled barrel character. It seems like the rum barrel was used to mask the oxidation. End result produces little else than sweetness and traces of wet wood. Thin bodied and very sweet, low on carbonation. Not a shining example of what Rev is capable of with their barrel program.

Fantastic beer. Bourbon is powerful, both on the nose and in taste. A hint of rum, perfectly done. One of my favorite beers from Revolution.
