Amarillo-Hero showcases the hop's intense citrus and floral notes. A simple, delicate malt bill allows the fruit basket of aromas to take center stage while a touch of Cascade and Citra layered in amplify this Hero’s juicy characteristics.
Clean bitterness rounds this beer out resulting in a crisp, refreshing IPA.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a burnt orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, little else is present. Taste is citrus, a bit of resin, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall it's decent, but nothing special.

Delicious underrated IPA. Clean slightly cloudy yellow-orange color with some nice fluffy head and some spotty lingering lacing. Smells nice, more citrus zest hops than floral hops. Tastes of citrus - orange, lemon, grapefruit - as well as some floral hops, a little herbal hops, grain, biscuit and a great well-balanced malt backbone. Nice and smooth, mild mouthfeel with perfectly-balanced bitterness at the end. Great carbonation throughout.

3/4/18...muddled copper with fast and high white foam that sits down to a thin creamy layer. Clean fresh nose. Citrus, mint, trees, and grass. Toffee bready opening taste. Thick and chewy. Sharp fast bite closes it out. But, doesn't interrupt the smooth operation.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 11/13/17.
A: Pours clear initially with a cloudy finish, leaving a peach orange color with excellent head formation leaving a fluffy, one inch orange-white head with solid retention but rings of foamy lacing.
S: Aromas of grapefruit, orange, peach, and light pine mix initially with an Orangesicle finish.
T: Palate flavors largely follow the nose. Slightly peppery bitterness is light with a clean, refreshing finish.
M: Light to medium bodied with strong persistent carbonation.
O: Really enjoyable. A light, truly orangy IPA for summer. Excellent use of Amarillo hops.

Revolution Brewing "Amarillo Hero"
12 fl. oz. can, "FILLED: 11-13-2017 12:51:09" and sampled on 05-06-2018
$3.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: A nice big head of creamy off-white foam has risen above its hazy golden body. The aroma expresses orange over a sweetish, grainy malt base. The flavor, not surprisingly, follows exactly. The malt is bready and the orange flavor is smooth and rounded, not tart at all. I was expecting it to be a little more hoppy but at the same time I'm really liking it as it is; this is a beer that you could drink all of the time. A solid bitterness balances it, and it finishes dry with some orange lingering shortly. I've actually consumed a fair amount of this already which might imply that it's got a great drinkability to it, or not, but I'm noticing that I've got almost solid sheets of lace ringing the glass from the point where I started drinking down. That's nice! The question now is, do I forgive the haziness? It might be from dry-hopping, I'm not sure, but it could be so I'll let it go. And I've still got a very solid surface covering of foam - good looking pint! Back to the beer itself, it's a very nice expression of what Amarillo hops are like. I can't think of another beer that's been better and I'm racking my brain to try to recall one. Nope, can't come up with it. So if you want to get a handle on the flavor that Amarillo gives you this is your beer. Keep in mind though, this is not a single-hop beer, there's also some Cascade and Citrus in there so be aware of that. The floral and lightly grapefruit and even lemon-like notes are coming from those, but the orange has got to be all Amarillo. Mmmmmmmm. Very nice. This is hitting the spot for me. Maybe I'm more of an Amarillo fan than I thought! Ha! OK, to finish up, it's medium bodied and surprisingly moderately carved and very soft and smooth - how did it get that great head then? It's almost as if it were naturally carbonated. Again, very nice. This one's firing on all cylinders. The only drawback might be that it's kind of one-sided, well, actually two sided because there are hops and malt, but I can live with that - not every beer needs to be complex, and as I said earlier, this is a beer you could drink all the time. I'd really like another, which again goes to drinkability. Very nicely done on all counts. A kick-ass American India pale ale. Probably my favorite "Hero" beer from Revolution. Well worth trying.

Late hops and a silky sweet mouthfeel. Gorgeous IPA. Skunky. Complex.

Had this on 2018-02-06 in Bolingbrook, IL from a 12oz canned on 2017-07-12 from a too old 12 pack at Tony's Market. Dates not listed on the outside of the packaging. Pretty lame to sell a mixed IPA 12 pack this old.
A - Pretty hazy gold with a 3 finger pillowy white head and good lace.
S - Orange flesh, floral and light biscuit
T - Orange flesh and zest, lightly toasted bread with honey, earthy and herbal spice, pine, and moderate bitterness. Good balance.
M - Medium body and carbonation. Resinous and somewhat prickly. I like the feel.
O - Considering the age, it held up well. I like the flavors quite well. The aroma was pretty muted. Didn't detect any oxidation.
