12oz can at share. Dark brown body with collar of foam. Plums and prunes in the aroma, roast malys. bourbon barrel. Taste brings some mildly sweet roast, more pit fruit and a nice boozy burn

Deth by Plums plays into the common dark fruit notes in many barrel aged stouts. The Smell is deliciously prune juice (sounds weird, I know). The barrel is held in check and let's the dark fruits sing.

Pours almost jet black with a very attractive inch of foamy coffee ice cream colored head. Slowly dissipates to a thin, lasting layer. Smells.....strong. You can smell the plums and the booze. Both are strong, but pleasantly so. Taste is much smoother than I anticipated, and is very heavy on the plums. Feel is slightly thin, but not overly so. Overall a very tasty beer that goes down way too easy for a hair under 12%.

12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 10/4/19, had 4/10/20. Replaces rating from draft only release of 11/18/17.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a half inch foamy head and light soapy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, plums, vanilla oak, char, some toffee, light tobacco. The plums really stand out in the flavor, followed by chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, some caramel, some oak and char. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.
Also had this on tap at the the 2019 release, and I like the can better than either draft. Probably because I’m not drinking the can along with all the other incredible beers at a Revolution Deep Wood release. The plums are awesome, lots of chocolate, and while there’s a slightly thinner feel than the base beer, it’s not a negative. The can also seems a little sweeter than it did on tap. Very enjoyable.
