10/17/18 (Chicago): $6.81 5 ounce sample pour into snifter at the Revolution release event held at the brewpub. Dark red murky pour, no head or lacing. Mild whiskey aroma, nice and sweet. Sweet syrupy berry mix, balanced by a strong whiskey taste, very nicely balanced. Razor thin texture, fruity sweetness hits the tongue sharply, dry taste, very easy drinking. Overall very good offering, sweeter than I typically seek, but this is a very good offering. This brew was switched WhistlePig 10 Year Rye barrel, and an additional year in a Heaven Hill bourbon barrel.
