I got a couple of cans of this beer from a mixed 12pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a slightly hazy copper with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle bitter citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright citrus fruit presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Saturated dark orange, almost amber. Two fingers of foam fades with minimal lacing.
Aroma is resiny, hop forward but not especially fruity or tropical as the description.
Resiny and bitter, medium bodied, ample carb. Maybe a tiny bit of papaya, but mostly bitterness.
Overall this had a bit more punch than the other "heroes" but wasn't my favorite.

A top notch IPA. Pours a beautiful orange with an orange-tinged think off-white head. Citrus and pine hops on the nose. Maltiness up front finishing with a nice bitterness.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/22/2019. Pours slightly hazy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, black tea, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, black tea, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, black tea, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an awesome single hop IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Awesome Idaho 7 showcase. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean balancing bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and awesome style example as expected. The hero series is consistently impressive.

Aroma is pine, citrus and slightly pure/sticky sweetness. The flavor is tropical fruit, malts, slightly off sweetness and a grapefruit/hoppy/hop resin finish.
