Project Sanctuary Barrel #18: Spending its first year in a Woodford Master's Collection barrel before being transferred to a Heaven Hill Bourbon barrel for it's second year of aging. This super-dry and delicately smoky belligerent pugilist of a BA Scotch Ale will warm your insides like nothing else.

Kegged late 2018. Crowler filled 9/4/20; drank 9/5/20 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice khaki head; frothy lace.
Caramel, bourbon, oak & mild smoke notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Caramel, cream & oak flavors up front; smoke & mild bourbon heat on the finish.
Smoother than it has any right to be; the smoke & booze are well integrated into a premium Scotch Ale aesthetic that totally works. A pleasant surprise!
