A new hero sweeps in from the frozen north, wielding tremendous cold-forged hop power. A generous proportion of concentrated cryo hops showcases blasts of bright, clean citrus and fresh fruit pulp flavor with a sharp, bright finish.

The cryo hop pellets we used to create Cryo-Hero are processed to consolidate the lupulin -- which preserves the oils and resins for an even bigger showcase of Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Centennial. Every pound of cryo hops packs the punch of two pounds of the regular hops we use. The huge hop character and massive aroma complement a light, smooth golden beer.

APPEARANCE: Hazy golden, with a huge head of off-white suds. Wispy lil’ lace.

NOSE: Tropical fruit - pineapple, orange, lemon…good.

TASTE: Juiced-up hops, almost to a sweet level. Super smooth and easy, though, and another solid and well-done IPA from Revolution.

Pours a beautiful hazy golden color with a fluffy white head that laces the glass beautifully. Dank citrus notes on the nose, with mango, pineapple, grapefruit, and passion fruit most prominent. Lovely nose.

The mango and pineapple are forward on the taste, and they fit well with the passion fruit and a nice bit of melon. Very balanced and flavorful.

The mouthfeel is dry and has a bite. This is a flavorful, easy drinker of an IPA - that’s packing a 7.3% ABV punch. Really good stuff from Rev, IMHO.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on June 29, 2019. The use of cryo hops give this beer a very pleasant aroma. Nice citrus flavors as well.

I tried this beer at the brewery. It poured a clear golden white with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had hints citrus. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with pleasant citrus presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/3/2019. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not aggressive. Awesome Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Centennial profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Another great addition to the Hero Series.

12oz can, snifter glass. Relatively clear golden copper body, one finger frothy white head, good retention, medium collar, bits of lacing. Smell is grapefruit zest, a bit of orange, fruity resin, herbal, light caramel, mildly dry minerality. Flavour follows, has more of an astringent dry minerality than the nose suggests, a bit lower on the uptake as far as hops go- mild grapefruit and herbal resin, fair bit of caramel, reasonably balanced with a fair bit of mild resinous bitterness that lingers for a while. Medium lighter bodied, good carbonation, zesty herbal finish. It's a fine IPA, but honestly not much to write home about.

12oz can, filled 04/03/2019. Copper colored ale with a tall ivory colored head that holds good retention. Juicy aroma of mango, citrus, pine, and caramel malt. Big juicy tropical flavors as well: piney mango, pineapple, grapefruit; caramel and grain provides the usual malt backbone for the hero series. Medium body, ample carbonation, moderate bitterness on the finish. This is one of my favorites that I've had from the Hero series. Great flavors going on with this one!
