Collaboration with Hop Butcher For The World

This Imperial Hazy IPA, made with our friends at Hop Butcher for the World, is fermented with British Ale V yeast and hit with two separate dry hops including Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado, and Sabro. A velvet smoothness conveys huge waves of tropical fruit and citrus that define the Superstructure.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/6/2020. Pours moderately hazy golden orange color. 1 finger fairly dense off white head. Good retention and spotty soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, mandarin orange, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, coconut, guava, citrus peel, peppercorn, pine, honey, bread dough, light caramel, herbal, floral, grass, yeast earthiness. Light-med pine, citrus rind, herbal/woody bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body. Balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and light resins in the mouthfeel. Lingering resin drying with no cloying/astringency. Mild increasing warmth of 9% after the finish. Great smooth/soft feel for an NEDIPA. The nose was quite muddy, but not bad at all. Taste held up a bit better. Still very juicy with solid dankness. Nice showcase of Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado, and Sabro hops. The ABV likely helped the beer hold up too.

I got a 4pck of this beer from the Binnys in Naperville, IL. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had ripe fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dank ripe fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a very good beer.

Hazy Mango pour from craft brew house into snifter. Tropical aromas on nose, lacing gentile around snifter circumference. Soft pineapple on palate enhanced with pulpy mouthfeel of Citra and hop. Chicago Revolution brewery hits a Homer!!

When I saw this I knew I had to pick it up. I've seen a lot of good things about Hop Butcher so having a beer of theirs even if it's only a collab is cool.
A: Poured a really nice and hazy pale golden yellow with a fluffy two finger head that lingered well.
A: Juicy citrus, some spiciness, herbal dankness, and pineapple.
T: Follows the nose with a big punch of tropical fruit juice, orange, pine resin and a bit of dank herb. Has a bit of malt sweetness as well, but not too much.
F: Really nice and substantial while still being dry. Makes you want to take another drink.
O: This is another really good collab between Revolution and Hop Butcher. Would definitely consider getting this again.

Canned on 8/6/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing yellowish golden; fluffy white head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have some citrus and tropical notes, especially pineapple. Some crackers and fresh bread. Malts are there. The aromas really open up as it warms a bit. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More pineapple leading the way. Some orange, peach and apricot in the mix. Mild hints of grapefruit. Nice hop flavors. Moderate to low bitterness. Subtle sweetness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol is ultimately well hidden. Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, slightly sharp and creamy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice collaboration. The craftsmanship is on point. It's bold and clean. The hop flavors really take this one to the next level. Everything opens up as it slightly warms. There's something about this one that I really like. They did a nice job. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 8/6/20, had 8/19/20.

Pours a hazy orange yellow, with a two inch head of creamy foam with great retention and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of orange, mango, some grapefruit, melon as it warms, some malt. Smells somewhat dank, has a bit of a sweet aroma, too. Flavors of orange, mango, pine, some melon and grapefruit, malt. It’s lightly dank and has a decent amount of hop bitterness throughout. Smooth, a little dry, a very good lighter body, well carbonated.

This is a great collaboration that capitalizes on each brewery’s strength in brewing IPA’s. Great hop blend. Very enjoyable.

Superstructure by Revolution and Hop Butcher for the World. This hazy imperial deftly masks its 9% ABV. A floral, juicy and bitter-free IPA that is crushable and yet leaves me wishing there were a bitter finish to this beer. That’s my burden and no knock on the collaborators. A beer that surely will enthrall lovers of a very mildly bitter style.

Very hazy deep orange color with a 2 finger off-white head which lasted longer than I thought it would and leaves decent lacing on the rim of the glass.

Smells of sweet tropical fruits, melon, guava, papaya, and bubblegum.

Taste follows the nose. Slight warming as you swallow. On the sweeter side but not cloying. Little to no bruising is detected.

This is a nice triple. It’s certainly not something I would have a lot of but I could see myself having this on occasion. Deeply flavored with a great smell.

16oz can, dated 08.06.2020, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a very hazy orange amber color, copper hues with a very large fluffy white head, pillowy soft with moderate retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is pleasant, lots of peach, melon, orange juice with a nice floral character, sweet yeast, mineral water, light bitter pine, a bit of grassiness and a lot of cereal grain and warm alcohol. The flavors are good, sweet fruits, jelly peach candy with a nice melon flavor, orange juice, lightly floral, grassy with bitter pine and some more green hop, sweet dough and sweet yeast with a warm boozy finish that also pushes the sweetness. The mouthfeel is good, coating and lively texture that finishes with a sweet and warm bite.

Verdict: A nice IIPA from Revolution and Hop Butcher. It's big, very big and the alcohol really comes across and starts to dominate in terms of heat and sweetness. There is a bit of counterbalance from the green and earthy spectrum of hops but it can't stop this from being a very sweet and boozy, albeit tasty beer.

Good beer, but as it was canned middle of August, it may have fallen a bit. Very hazy dark orange, slight amount of soft lacing. Juicy, hoppy, citrusy, slightly bitter on the nose. Taste is hoppy and citrusy with both sweetness and a bit of subtle bitterness. Light to medium bodied, kind of a dry finish, creamy, mouth filling. A very good beer, in that it’s got a bit of everything going on with nothing taking too much of the spotlight.
