The lone variant from our On & On collaboration with the iconic Half Acre Beer Company, this Imperial Rye Porter rested for one year in a French oak Cognac barrel. A restrained spirit profile and soft tannic presence provide subtle accoutrement for this ample-bodied, sweet sipper.

On draft at the On & On Vol. 3 release. Cognac is heavy-handed but comes across with a strong dose of honey. The underlying base is calling up some memories, but I wish I remembered the Vol. 1 more than I do. Very thicc, somewhat muted on the front palate due to very low carbonation, but some light iodine notes more reminiscent of a Baltic. Maybe that is really just some oxidation playing off the cognac in an interesting way.

Had on tap. Brownish black with oatmeal brown ring. Bright oak, cognac, rye, baker's chocolate, and slight molasses in the nose, sweeter than the orignal by quite a bit. Taste is wonderful in how the cognac and bright oak interacts with the rest of the beer: rye, chocolate, vanilla, light earth and molasses, but that's just it, the true assimilation never occurs. Feel is more seamless however, warm and spiced by so smooth and has a refined richness. Preferred the orignal but this was also delicious. The wife loved it

Keg tapped May 2021; drank 5/14/21 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black/brown appearance.
Minimal tan head; no lace.
Cognac, oats, oak & faint chocolate notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
STRONG cognac & mild oat flavors up front; mild notes of chocolate, oak & a healthy booze heat on the finish. As this warmed, the chocolate & oak emerged a bit more.
Less integrated than the original version; overpowered a bit by the cognac, but still good. An interesting experiment.
