An American hop assault for all the ambivalent warriors who get the girl in the end. “Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess.” This iconic ale features a blend of four hop varieties which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas.

From a can - no pour. Nicely balanced, definitely hoppy but solid notes of citrus, grapefruit, light pine, and resin coming through. Nice biscuit malt backbone that rounds it out - really enjoyed this one.

Revolution brewing anti-hero 6.7 alcohol in American hop assault anti-hero... I just finished West Coast let me clear my pallet

Look SRM is 16 crystal clear.
Kind of dark like a double but the alcohol is a little lifted I might expect ... I had the hero tonight the hero is hazy... This feels even more bitter... Makes the hero seem lazy... The head was refreshed tiny bubbles who would have guessed ... Hero is sweeter the finish is neater... Anti-heroes the other... Is the darker brother... Lower alcohol... More bitter that's all...

Less Alcohol here ... But a bigger hop punch,? Let me check the IBUs. Looking for my hunch .

Mouthfield this one feels dryer...
The bitterness higher.... Alcohol lower gets me drunk slower...

Overall: contrast night and day West Coast hero today... Is sweeter and neater... But this review is in the darker brother the anti-hero in American hop assault like no other...
Anti-hero is harsher if that's what you're looking for... Get it right here full piney full resin... you like extra dank... ?-Then this one isn't a prank!

Pours a clear deep amber with decent off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is full of grapefruit and other citrus, but also with considable sweet malts. Taste is quite bitter, but but balanced. Body is medium with lively carbonation and a slightly slick mouthfeel. This has been a go-to local IPA for me ever since 2013, when Revolution moved into the Chicago warehouse where I used to work recycling and refurbishing old computers. Still a classic.

On draft at Jack Brown's Murfreesboro, into a pint glass.

Pours a dark amber with plenty of lacing and foam. Aroma is spicy grapefruit, quite aggressive. Flavor is similar, plenty of malt but lots of grapefruit and classic hop flavors alongside caramel malts. The grapefruit is a huge flavor with plenty of bitter sweetness. The finish is long with lots of pine but also some good brown sugar and rich maltiness. Feel is good, appropriately rich and heavy for the ideas, and is decidedly old school.

Overall, a lovely throwback that makes me remember why IPAs weren't a standard. A delicious beer that went down not easily but enjoyably.

Caramel colored with a strong white head. Intense aromas of grapefruit and pine. Taste follows nose but with a bit of malty sweetness. Fairly crisp, medium body. I am not a lover of IPAs, but this one is solid.

Sharp and clear, dark gold body; dense carbonation; thick head, white and frothy; sticky webs and fingers of foam lace the glass. Fantastic aroma; dank and pungent; pine resin. Beautiful taste, rich and complex; honey-like malt backbone; spicy and pine resin hop flavors. Medium-heavy body; mild abrasiveness counterpointing a light stickiness; moderate boozy warmth.

A beautiful rendition of an old school tongue ripping India pale ale.

Good amount of carbonation with a nice orange color. The flavor is full of pine with a hint of citrus. A true American IPA standard.

3 pints on draft in Chicago over two days so assuming it was mighty fresh.

Classic IPA profile for my tastes - copper hue, thin bubbly head. Aroma of floral, citrus and a touch of malt. Yes, you heard me - malt. It’s beautiful. Balanced bitterness that’s present but doesn’t weigh the palate down. Standard bearer of the style.
