A pair of leaky Four Roses Bourbon Deth's Tar barrels were combined to fill a single Heaven Hill Bourbon barrel before aging an additional four years. After roughly five years of aging it's emerged with equally heady measures of rich chocolate, American oak, and alcohol.

Had on tap. Midnight black with a brown sudsy collar. Huge barrel aromas with dark chocolate, anise, licorice, plum, and char. Taste adds vanillins, various dark dried fruits, enhanced bourbon, light roast to the malt, and a whisper of oatmeal, sneaky complex. Feel is so smooth, malty, barrel character is impressive: very warm and oak laden, basically deth's tar on steroids.

Had on draught at the taproom.

Tons of barrel on this one - its like liking the inside of the barrel after the stout was drained. That being said, if you like barrel character this beer bring its like few others. Its decadent and rich, and very good.

Had this on draft 12/11/21 @ Revolution's Taproom.

Black appearance.

Almost no dark tan head; no lace.

Dark chocolate, charred oak & vanilla, in the nose and on the palate.

Thick, creamy mouthfeel.

A robust, delicious treat. I'll be back tomorrow for more!!
