Appearance: Pours a moderately hazy (50% clarity), medium golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of tropical berry notes upfront. Some orange and grapefruit citrus. Some peach. Creamy malt notes too. Mild citrus and pine. (4.25)
Flavor: Strong and creamy flavors of tropical berry, mango, guava, with some earthy apple. Some orange citrus and faint pine notes to finish.. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. A slightly bitter pine off the finish. Relatively clean and dry. (4.25)
Compared to Hubbard's Cave Hopsurd 5/26/22: Pours lighter and clearer. Similar aromas. More citrus, pine, berry notes. Less peach and papaya. Slightly more bitter. Somewhat similar overall.
Overall: A really good DDH NEIPA here. This one has nice tropical berry, orange, mango, some apple, and faint pine notes. Juicy, resinous, and appropriately sweet. Just enough pine bitterness. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, yet somewhat clean and dry. It's like first the sweet fruit hits and you're expecting a sweet finish, but rather it's a carbonated, dry, mildly bitter, but overall clean finish. For the resinous flavor, incredibly juicy and balanced. (Rating: 4.22+)
