A beer brewed in support of the campaign to bring the statue f General Logan back to Logan Square in Chicago.
Coming out of the tap this is a very attractive porter. It has a lovely dark hue and about two fingers of head. You can smell the molasses used in brewing immediately and it lends a nice sweet character to what would otherwise be a fairly roasty beer. There might also be just a touch of cocoa that comes through in the nose. Overall the taste is a bit of a disappointment after the seeing and smelling this beer, it just doesn't measure up. The roast and sweetness are there but it just doesn't quite come together and ends up being just a bit astringent. This is a beer I would have one of in a sitting and then move on, not to say I wouldn't do that multiple times because it has many good qualities but this is not a growler fill for me.
