Smell is a more realistic tropical fruit nose than most of this trend has offered this past summer. To me, on the nose, it's a lot of guava, like a Jumex. Surprisingly, on the palate, it's a lot more bitter than you'd expect. The combination of a sweeter and fruitier than usual smell with a more bitter than usual beer is, for me, quite fun. Your mileage may vary. The beer is paler than I usually like, with a fruitier smell than I usually like, and more bitter than I like, but somehow the combination is really working for me. This is one of the better tropical IPAs jumping on the trend in 2023. No idea what a "pixelated punch of hops" is, but this is a hoppy, bitter beer. Not suited for IPA dislikers. The strong fruitiness of the smell helps to mediate the overly bitter flavor. I'd definitely drink this again.

Pours clear honey gold with a thick white head, loads of layered lacing. Aroma is citrus fruits and hints of pine. Flavor follows the nose. Feel is light bodied and well carbonated. Overall, another fine variation of the "Hero" beers from Revolution.

T: pear, peach, orange, grapefruit, pine, light caramel, grain
F: medium body, moderate carbonation makes it feel fuller, dry & bitter finish with pine and zesty citrus lingering
O: this one is middle of the road for the Hero series
