On-tap at the pub... A dark straw body, very clear. Not much head, poor retention but solid lacing... The aroma is surprisingly sweet, tons of sweet candied toffee, candied sugar, herbs. Nothing like any bitter I've had. Really good for an esb, but seems off for the style... The taste is beyond weird, but one of the most complex beers I've ever had. There are three distinct segments that have wholesale changes in flavor. The start is sweet, very similar to juice. The middle is dead but with alcohol. The finish is a hop bomb. I don't particularly like this but its certainly interesting.
Not a traditional esb and not easy to drink. However, its so unique its worth trying.

My first English Bitter and first cask beer ever, I was excited to try this!
Appearance- After settleing it is almost crystal clear golden color with a two finger bubbly white head. Great retention, a little whispy lace.
Smell- Earthy and floral hops, some sweeter malts, a bit of caramel. Not to much going on, on the nose.
Taste- Earthy and floral hops again. With some light sweeter malt to keep this very balanced. Some slight diacetyl on the finish, but as I understand this is the norm for the style.
Mouthfeel- Light body, low carbonation. It is a cask bitter, so this was as expected.
Overall- Had two with dinner, a great food beer. Very different from anything I have had, glad I finally tried one of these cask conditioned english ales.

Fairly standard golden/amber color with average head. Nice medium-light mouthfeel and VERY drinkable.
Aroma and flavor are mild at first, but both contain a surprisingly fruity element. The finish is much more earthy/grassy, and there's a clear shift of flavor that happens from when you first take a sip through to the long lingering finish. I found this made what could've been just a very good session beer into something much more interesting and fun to drink.
Definitely recommended.
