Brewed for Revolution's one year anniversary.

Brewed with dark chocolate and black malts and hopped with Falconer's Flight hop blend. You might call this a hoppy porter or a black IPA, we call it a birthday present.

Growler of this thanks to Jason, most easygoing BA in Chicago. Anyone know him?

A - Brownish-black beer with an off-white head that only left a little bit of stickyness on the sides.

S - Butter, sweetness, caramel, good hop presense. I thought this was a black IPA, but apparently I am incorrect.

T - Roasted backbone, chocolate notes, this is pretty sweet, but the bitter hops cut nicely into the sweetness to give it a lot of balance. This is a fantastic beer, slightly on the sweet side, but really good, I'm very impressed by this one.

M - Good carbonation and medium bodied.

D - This is the kind of beer that makes you think Piece has something good going on. Recommended.

Growler thanks to Jason. Poured into Bruery tulip.

A - Pours black/dark brown, off-white head, no cap, some slight bubbles along the edge.

S - Nice dose of bitter hops, some buttery notes, slight sweetness.

T - Very similar to the nose, although a bit more sweetness. Not quite as dank and hoppy as I'd like, but very solid n

M - Light to medium, smooth and crisp, dry/oily finish.

D - A very solid Black IPA from our friends at Rev. Would def have again and hope they do this again in the very neat future. Must-try.

On tap at the pub... A stunning dark mahogany body with some nice dark amber edges, semi clear. A thick laced light tan head, clings for several centimeters. The head is thin cap, not much to see... The aroma is fantastic, wonderfully displayed cascade hops without a bit of soap. Light pine and roasted malt too boot. Complex and balanced... The taste is equally nice, a roasty backbone, chocolate finish, the hops display in the middle as light pine but sweet and very fresh. A light soap finish actually works... The mouthfeel has perfect carbonation with a great finish.

This is one of the best black ipa's I've head, well worth trying.
