This single barrel of sweet component Deth’s Tar spent twelve months in a tequila barrel which had recently finished Templeton Rye whiskey. Whiskey dominates the barrel character with notes of agave-based spirit flashing about its edges. Wood tannin is noticeably restrained allowing the sweet base and unique spirit character to softly shine.

I had this on draft 10/18/24 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black/brown appearance.
Small khaki head; minimal lacing remained.
Wood, dark chocolate & faint smoke notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Sweet chocolate, vanilla, mild agave & faint oak flavors.
Lovely; perhaps a touch sweet but with nice depth. A dessert treat.
