Hazy pastel orange, soft white foam that fades to a tidy thin ring.

Tropical hop aroma, earthy mango, peach. Somewhat pungent, though the flavor doesn't quite live up to the high caliber aroma. Pleasant and easy drinking though, the hop bitterness is mild, some fruity orange and tangerine notes surface in the middle and linger into the end. Mildly sweet pale malt and notes of popcorn kernel behind all the hops. Finishes cleanly with some residual mellow bitterness. Light bodied and plenty drinkable.

On-tap at Revolution. Served in a tulip glass. This take on the recipe was made with Nelson Sauvin hops.

A - A finger of white foam settles to a thick cap, leaving a few thin fingers of lace. Hazy peach body.

S - Earthy and pungent hops, with a bit of cat pee, and some papaya and mango as well. Spicy Belgian yeast and bready malts. Gets better as it warms up, with the tropical fruits coming out more.

T - Taste is more Belgian pale, with a lemony citrus kick in the finish. I'm a little sad that the tropical fruits have been overwhelmed with the phenolic yeast and bready malts. Low residual hop bitterness.

M - Medium body, some grain to the texture, dry and very clean finish. No alcohol, and pleasant zesty carbonation. Quite nice and style-appropriate.

D - This was quite nice. I preferred it to the Haymarket version by a small margin. I'm glad these are actual Belgian IPAs using non-European hops that impart strong hop aroma, unlike some of the other attempts I've had that merely add oppressive bitterness to a generic Belgian Pale Ale. The tulip was quite easy to finish.
