A: Appears pitch black in the glass. Served with a large, creamy, dark tan head. Excellent retention and cookie amounts of lacing.

S: Smells rather woody. Balsa. Lots of roasted malts and toast. The the hops kick in. Citrus and grapefruit with a little alcohol on the back end.

T: Creamy chocolate malts. Roasted malts. A liitle citrus and grapefruit hops. Chocolate. A slight hint of smoke. Alcohol on the finish.

M: Started off quite creamy and smooth. Full bodied. Lower carbonation. Almost comes off feeling like a nitro tap. A mild alcoholic burn on the finish. Mild bitterness.

O: a vey good beer. I've always avoided Eugene, but I don't know why. Rather enjoyable. Easy drinker. Flavorful, with a balance between roasty and hoppy.
