Copenhagen 24/5 2026. 35,5 cl can from Øltanken web-shop. A funky hop clad as a West Coast Hero on the can.
Pours clear golden yellow with a rather big white head. Stable. Settles as a 4 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with ripe stone fruit. Notable citric notes. Sweet caramel Peach and mango. Grapefruit abd lemon. A little rough.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, gently tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense either way a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Pretty light and well balanced and dressed DIPA.

4/23/26 - (Revolution Taproom) (Chicago, Illinois) Draft Notes: $7 plus tax 16 oz draft pour into a nonic glass. 8.0% ABV West Coast-Style Double IPA.
Appearance: Crystal clear golden tan base, light carbonation, resting below a creamy egg white head with generous razor thin lacing and cover. 4.5
Aroma: Nice pine citrus aroma, medium strength, higher enjoyment. 4.0
Taste: Nice pine and citrus, WCIPA vibes. Malty, leans toward a Midwest presentation of WCIPA style, but satisfied, malt and all. 4.25
Mouthfeel: Bitter, drinks strong but slightly below the 8% listed ABV. Dry, light malt, definitely bitter, glorious pine, with citrus and caramel malts claiming silver and bronze on the finish line. 4.5
Overall: This is a solid take on a WCIPA. I’ve enjoyed before, but haven’t rated as mistakenly assumed ir to,d this was the same as the OG DDH version. Recommend, another Rev to go purchase based on enjoyment of this one. 4.25

A dark IPA with a lot of flavor. Really well balanced while packing a punch. I fuck with it.

West Coast hero
West Coast style double IPA 8.0 alcohol by volume
Good vibes pouring bright and dank
Smell from the can I can smell hops I can smell grass... And a little machine oil... Small amount of citrus It's in the aroma, It's resin... That measures West Coast, If it's not delightful it's correct for the style.... I haven't had West Coast like this in a while...
Look: the SRM it's a double at 15 to 16... That means there could be trouble... It's clear and brassy maybe that's what they mean by bright. What about dank ? Let's take that bite!
.
Taste: dank? Yes, ok, thanks!, West Coast hits you there.... shuts down the palate... Grabs a pucker... Dry to the back of your throat... Then Pallet and the tongue meet in the dry echoes of "West Coast Resin"... Pry that apart and Then ooh sweetness lingers... West Coast yes, hero ? Maybe let it linger. Double strong takes half as long... ? Perhaps that's how a hero is made... Are those hops Cascade?! Willimette you say Yes that's okay. You mean it's modern West Coast what you meant to say...
Mouthfeel : alcohol present 8.0 check, bitterness check, sweetness pops back check hero status ? Could be...... It's balanced it's integrated It's sophisticated... 1,2,3
It's fast and slow... West Coast hero...have some more!
West Coast hero... I will buy it again sure ! Final score a perfect 4!

I got a couple cans of this beer from a mixed 12pck that I bought from my local meijer store. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle bitter citrus and pine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with bitter pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Crystal clear, dark gold body; gorgeous tiny bubble carbonation, dense; thick, frothy head, white, loosely sudsy, long-lasting; sticky partial rings and fingers of foam lace the glass. Sweet and dank hop aroma; a bit of edgy spiciness blending with mild fruity esters. Hop bitterness up-front, balanced; pine resin; grapefruit; mild malt base. Medium-bodied; sharp with a nice bite; light stickiness on the palate; a hint of overall dryness.
This is a different iteration of the beer and not the double dry-hopped version (which is a limited release - this one is available year-round per their web site). This superb little number definitely falls into the classic west coast India pale ale tongue-ripper tier. Bold yet balanced; quite enjoyable. I would like to try the double dry-hopped version and see how that compares.
ABV: 8.0%; pouring temperature: 45.1 ℉; canning info: filled 05/28/25
