A short rest on fire-toasted American oak adorns our Repo Man Rye Stout with subtle smoke & vanilla aromatics and flavors. Oak tannin provides a creaminess to the texture as well as a drying punctuation to the finish.

10/2/25 - (Revolution Brewery) (Chicago, Illinois) Brewery Notes: 16 oz draft served in a nonic glass. Oaked Rye Stout.
Appearance: Pitch black base, creamy tan head lingers a bit before leaving a razor thin circle over the base, a black uncovered ring like an eclipse, and a creamier ring around the rim. 3.75
Aroma: Beautiful dark roast coffee, roast malt, rye less prominent but enjoying. Medium plus strength. 4.0
Taste: Got Wood?! Smoked oak more pronounced taste wise, which suits me fine as that’s why I ordered. Vanilla, caramel and toffee come next, over the roast malt, light coffee and subtle rye All blend well, really digging. 4.5
Mouthfeel: Bursts with flavor, light and easy ABV wise, below the listed 6.4% ABV. Near cask la k of carbonation, body watery and light, sweet flavors create a slightly enhanced creaminess. Sweet, but within proper measure. Wood light, could have used a little more smoke as this fades from initial impressions. Caramel toffee roast malt finish. 3.75
Overall: This is a nice variant, sort of faded barrel as I worked through it. Nice pour, think the OG is preferred on my end. 4.0
