Aged a total of five years, this exceedingly old double-barrelled blend of Deth’s Tar and Dark Mode stouts is fairly saturated with caramel fudge malt, and oaken vanilla.

Had on tap. Opaque dark brown, short lived tan cap. Aromas of vanilla cream, caramel, semi-sweet chocolate, and fudge. Taste has lactose vanilla cream distracting from barrels, booze cuts through right after, out of balance with boozy sugars dominating. Feel is hotter and thinner for the series, not clean at all, especially compared to the other deep woods had in the same visit.

I had this on draft 1/25/26 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Brown/orange appearance.
No head; no lacing remained.
Vanilla, milk chocolate & faint strawberry notes in the nose.
Thick, smooth mouthfeel.
Coconut, strong wood & caramel flavors up front; mild chocolate & a big, boozy finish.
A bit too booze-forward for me but it's interesting & actually very tasty. Sanctuary #26.
