4/11/26 - (Revolution Brewery) (Chicago, IL)): $7.72 with tax, 20 oz firkin pour, 5.5% ABV English Milk Stout.
Appearance: Black chestnut brown base, creamy rich tan head lingers a few minutes before settling a ring around the rim and thin bubble carbonation above the entire base. 4.25
Aroma: Medium strength roast malt, milk chocolate, caramel, toffee. Nice. 3.75
Taste: Consistent with the aroma, but much stronger. Milk chocolate leads here, sweet caramel and toffee follow, roast malt alive and kicking but surpassed by the first three noted. Very nice. 4.5
Mouthfeel: Thin and watery, perceived a bit thicker due to sweetness. Faintly felt carbonation, sweet overall, but roast malt and any hops try to contain and do a pretty good job. Milk chocolate, caramel and toffee the trilogy start to finish. 4.25
Overall: This is a solid offering. Would like to try nitro or draft as well, but firkin may be the best vehicle for this selection. So glad firkins are back after a hiatus here. Will bring me back more often. 4.25
