Surely we've all drank a malt liquor before. This example was produced by mashing a 60/40 blend of 2-Row base malt and flaked corn and then fermented with NOVA lager yeast. The resulting beer has a golden color and smooth texture that balances the pronounced ABV. Also if you enjoy it, let our lead cellarman Brian Turner know. He was the captain of the ship on this brew!

Revolution Taproom (Chicago, Illinois) - 5/7/26 Revolution Taproom Brewery notes: Malt Liquor / Strong Lager. $7.06 with discount & tax, 16 oz draft, 8.3% ABV.
Appearance: Beautiful pour into a Pilsner glass yields a champagne flute of heavy constant carbonation, nice golden pale straw crystal clear base. Creamy white head yields generous ubiquitous soapy lacing and full coverage over the base. Quite excellent. 4.75
Aroma: Wonderful full malt aroma, bold and beautiful. , backed by Wonder white bread and mineral water. 4.5
Taste: Malt heavy, corn heavy, wonder bread and honey backed. A bit sweeter than my unrated first go yesterday, but still solid. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Gentle faint carbonation, drinks easier than the listed 8.3% ABV. Can of sweet corn curbstomps any hop attempted balance. Sweet corn Wonder bread finish. 3.75
Overall: This is a little sweeter than my palate wrecked unrated first attempt yesterday, but still a solid offering if you like sweet corn, white bread, and other flavors of yesteryear’s dinner table. Glad I returned to fully explore. 4.00
