Aged on heaps of heavy and char-toasted American oak, this imperial kettle sour is flavored with prickly pear and fresh lime. Off-dry, tart, and pleasantly oaky, this spritzy crowd-pleaser is a page straight out of our favorite cantinas.

Revolution Taproom (Chicago, Illinois) - 5/2/26 Revolution Taproom Brewery notes: Oak soured ale with prickly pear and lime, 5.8% ABV, $7.72 plus tax 12 oz tulip glass draft pour.
Appearance: Peach bronze base, nominal white carbonation and cover over 20% of the top, none visible floating upwards. 3.25
Aroma: Faint lime after a few attempts. 3.0
Taste: Flavor much stronger, lime, pear, lemon twist. Getting faint to light oak. Nice. 3.75
Mouthfeel: Faint sour cannot contain the sweetness. Faint carbonation, drinks light and easy, lime leads with pear backing all the way. 3.75
Overall: This is similar to a kettle sour, though with hints of oak. Wish it was more sour with some tartness. OK on a Summer day, but not necessarily a go to if this small batch returns. 3.5
