Served in a tumbler at Mundelein Brewfest 2014.
Standing pat with the Pig Minds folks to check out their rye IPA. It pours a clear rusty brass topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises mild pine sap, light grapefruit zest, very light caramel, very light sourdough, and a hint of what may or may not be black pepper way out in the ethereal void. The taste brings in more of the same, the pine and grapefruit a bit stronger to combat the slightly stronger caramel character. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly drying finish. Overall, a nice little RIPA, nothing to write home about, but I could potentially see drinking one of these sometime in the near future without much complaint.
