500ml bottle. 2025 vintage. Label has the information of 'Rested 12 months in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels'.
Black colored body. Mocha brown colored head which maintains as a full cap. Leaves behind lacing spots.
Aroma as a Pastry Stout with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and a background of bourbon barrel.
Taste is initially sweet chocolate and coffee, but later the espresso comes forward and expresses more coffee bitter. Other flavors of vanilla and butter crust. Totally soaked with bourbon barrel. Aftertaste is a slightly sweetened espresso.
More than medium mouthfeel. Smooth syrup texture. Higher ABV% does not burn and is exposed more with vapors. Very good carbonation (a partial cap follows the body down to the bottom of the glass).
The late emergence of espresso at the end of each sip is a real treat (cuts the initial sweetness). Dessert stout for sure.
