Poured into a snifter. A nice opaque brown with a medium sized tan head with good staying power. Aroma was a blast of fresh coffee up front, followed by oak and bourbon. Faint chocolate but not much else. Taste followed. The coffee was there up front and through to the finish. bourbon was more prominent and a tad boozy, masking the underlying stout flavors. Chocolate and roasty notes were there, but you had to seek them out beneath the barrel. I liked the body - not thin but a refreshing change from the overly sweet pastry stouts these days. Overall, enjoyable.

Deep dark stout, barrel-aged deliciousness in a bottle. When I went back I had to get another bottle because it was so damn good. Rich coffee and chocolate roast, that boozy barrel-aged signature, a nice beige head that stuck around for a while. Just the right mouthfeel for a big barrel aged stout, far from that disappointing watery feel that some barrel aged beers take on. If HenHouse ever makes this beer again I will be looking for it for sure.
