this stuff is killer, one of the better beers i have had from henhouse, and a decidedly new school approach to the style, frosted looking hazy yellow in the glass, simple, dry hoppy, and super fresh. i have liked beers ive had with idaho 7 before, but this is the first i have really been able to experience its full potential, in a single hop context, really get to know it a little bit. its aroma is bright and fruity, honeydew melon and canned pineapple and fresh flowers, its quite distinctive, but also teases a little citra and even amarillo in the nose. just a simple pale malt base behind it, maybe a little wheat, basic but right for these hops. the flavor is great a little more robust than the nose, juicy all the way, with more melon and tropical elements but now some understated grassiness as well as ripe orchard fruit, peach and white grape, really pretty awesome. there is only mild bitterness here, but thats all it needs. i get some pine intensity at the end too, quite a compelling botanical here. i loved this beer, it was a learning experience for me, but to have such a smooth, refined, and refreshing beer to go with it is awesome. i think the ceiling for idaho 7 is awfully high...
