Pours an effervescent chestnut/mahogany with 2 fingers of rocky mocha colored head. Very good head retention & better lacing
S: Very roasty, chocolate notes
T: Follows the nose, fairly dry, also woody hops up front. More roastyness, Baker's Chocolate, dryness & leafy hops as this beer warms up, faint hints of caramel. Finishes dry, roasty with semi-sweet chocolate
MF: Medium/thick body, subtle carbonation, warming
Great drinkability for the heft, well put together Imp Stout

Many thx to muchloveforhops3 for this can!
A - Pitch black pour with super dense, frothy, caramel colored lacing. Initial pour yielded an easy three fingered creamy layer of foam that eventually subsides to a thin layer.
S - Toasted cocoa, a light shot of fudge brownie, a small amount of black licorice.
T - Toasted chocolate malt from start to finish but more prevalent up front with some fudge before quickly squashed by a massive wall of bitter pine and grapefruit with some harshness. On the very, very end there is some resiny grapefruit citrus poking through the pine and chocolate char.
M - Big silky body that leaves a slight sugary residue on the lips and an uber dry finish on the back of the tongue while the sides of the mouth eventually bounce back with alot of salivation.
O - This has to be one of the most bitter Imperial Stouts I've ever experienced. This beer is definitely heavy on the Chinook and for most, it'll probably feel like your tongue just got yanked about two feet out of your skull and then beaten to death with a raspy file. Then again, this is the kind of punishment that I enjoy in a beer. I do like 'em bitter but HenHouse could have backed off the Chinook a little bit to let that chocolate malt goodness surface. Nevertheless, I am enjoying this one!
