Four-pack of 16 Oz. cans from Trader Joes in Menlo Park, CA.
Look: 4.5. It pours a slightly orange, slightly cloudy yellow with a big fluffy bountiful head like the clouds that halo'ed angels float around in cartoons...the head unfortunately fades very quickly to nothing. But there are still interesting bubbles that cling to the side of the glass and the carbonation generally adds to the visual interest.
Smell: In the glass, not much. But it lingers through the cranionasal pathways in a wonderfully complex way. Apricots are definitely there. Honestly I'm amazed at the lingering finish on this one. I've drank high-end bourbons that didn't linger on the palette and in the throat like this modest ABV beer does. I'm not going to throw out sommelier-esque phrases to describe how complex the finish is. Let's just say that if the finish were prose fiction it would be Ulysses. It's that complex. And dry. Nice and dry.
Taste: Shockingly tart on the first sip. But after that the tartness plays a supporting role to the great aromas described above (which are a big part of what we call "taste".) What can I say? It "tastes great." And at 4.8% ABV, it's definitely "less filling."
Feel: Very nice lively mouthfeel from the Champaigne-esque carbonation. Extremely quaffable and extremely crushable.
Overall: Nuff said.
