The Basso Profundo is the lowest vocalist and often voices the antagonist in classical opera. A simple reading could surmise that the Basso is the bad guy, but an erudite observer sees the Basso as the texture of the narrative. Nothing happens without the Basso, no growth is realized, no adventure in endeavor. The Basso is not the bad guy, the Basso is the action to which a story may react.
Much like a Basso, this classic West Coast IPA holds depth and complexity that creates the texture of the experience. Leading with Simcoe's profound pine needles and grapefruit pith, an astute observer will pick up on the intrigue of Citra and Comet which lend passion fruit, guava, and white peach.

12oz can. No dating information found, but there is this advice as part of the label, "CHECK THE DATE! THIS BEER IS MOST DELICIOUS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF FRESHNESS DATE."
Clear, straw colored body. Two fingers of white, tight bubble head, and this lingers for quite some time. Leaves behind thick lacing webs.
Aroma of grapefruit, pine, guava, and peach. Ends with mint and onion.
Taste is initially intensely fruity - grapefruit, guava, and peach, but later the bitter pine arrives and stays. Aftertaste is a balance of bitter and sweet, with a touch of mint.
More than medium mouthfeel. Felt tongue numbness. Excellent carbonation.
Not a total palate wrecker but works in the style to provide an IPA with sweetness, bitterness, and lots of flavors. Works as a slow sipper to enjoy the complexity.
