Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.

Despite the generic name, the menu assures me this beer is the brewer's take on the dubbel. It pours a hazy sunset amber topped by a short finger of dirty white foam. The nose comprises lightly rye-seeming biscuit, Belgian yeast, sweet banana, brown sugar, clove, and light toffee. The taste brings in more of the same, with less rye character, a couple twists of orange, and a hint of what seems like fig. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, an okay little dubbel, but the lack of dark fruit, spice, and general dubbel-ness leaves me wanting here.
