Limited release from St. Andrews Brewing. Has decent lacing and foam head. Colour is a mid red coppery brown, relatively dark. Smell has a malty herbal character, light spice, and some vineous character with a bit of sour dough. Taste has a more herbal dry spice and malt, apples, some citrus lemon coming through. Bitterness a bit toward the end, a fair bit of a sour fruitiness coming through nicely. Finishes crisp. Mouthfeel has pretty light carbonation. Medium slick feel with a good heft of alcohol and full malty body to stand up to the sour rye. Work pretty well, balance is good, and a pretty tasty beer, more potent than their other offerings, interesting one, could use a bit more complexity and perhaps more hops.
