Thanks to Charles for pouring this for me at the HF FoFA bottle share. Always interested to try anything using smoked malt. Smell was nice and hoppy with a mild smoke smell in the background. Taste followed suit, with the two complimenting each other nicely. I normally don't like smoked IPAs (sixpoint, I'm looking at you), but this was really nice!

Poured into snifter. Slightly cloudy deep copper orange/amber, with a thick off-white head that fades after a bit into a ring of foam. Smells very sweet, with lots of juicy tropical fruit, pineapple is a big one. Taste is very smooth, although not much malt presence. Lots of big juicy hops with a sticky bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and relatively full, could use a bit more malt thickness to back up the hops. Overall a great DIPA, I love the fruity ones. Excellent!

A deep reddish copper with a fluffy off white head that sticks around for quite a while and coats the glass nicely
S hoppy bittersweet smell, a bit earthy, piny, a hint of alcohol almost like cognac. There is something like toffe or vanilla as well. A rounded, sweetness without being sweet.
T malty up front but not overly sweet, pretty well balanced by hops. The hops are strong but not overwhelming. Would like a little less bittering hops and a litte more aroma, or could be a bit sweeter. The alcohol makes a slight appearance on the back end as well
M thick but not overwhelmingly. Good amount of carbonation for the style.
D not to be chugged, the hops bitterness and alcohol prevent that, but pretty easily sippable for a 10% beer and a great buy at $6.75 a bomber

The beer pours a hazy ruby red color with a thick frothy off-white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a very nice malt scent that boasts of pale and crystal malts; warm and sweet and wonderfully complex. The hop aroma comes through nicely. It has a crisp bitterness that lends an excellent citrus feel. The taste is good as well. It has a solid malt base that's big on caramel malts. It's bold and malty, which adds a good deal of balance to the alcohol warmth and hop character. It goes down slow and bitter with an excellent alcohol warmth. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a delicious DIPA with tons of flavor. It's big on hops, but malty enough to balance it out and add to the overall drinkability.
