Poured into nonic pint glass from fresh growler. Jet black with a nice brown tight head that falls after a few minutes but then stays at half-thickness for a while. Smells strong of roasted barley with hints of coffee and chocolate; just like a stout should smell. Taste is clean and wet up front, with a delicious bitter coffee/chocolate finish. Nice delicate lacing as it's drunk. Mouthfeel is slightly fizzy but nice and full. Another excellent offering from (what is rapidly becoming) my favorite local brewery.
