Copenhagen 24/11 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten, Søndergade, Herning. As "Vilhelm Julius Jule Dubbel". Purple label with Christmas Elves crawling around.
Pours slightly unclear amber with a mid-sized off-white head. Settles as a thin patch of foam floating in the middle of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, sugary, malt odor mingling with sweet spices and a bit of alcohol. Sweet dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. Syrup. Cinnamon and cardamom. Touch of anise.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, a bit viscous, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a strong sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is quite dry.
Pretty heavy on the herbal Christmas vibes.
