"Kriek" is an original, sour Belgian beer type aged in cherries. To this own interpretation of the beer type, I have added vanilla to give an extra depth of flavor and a slight sweetness as a counterpoint to the sour and fresh cherries. Enjoy this beer completely chilled on a hot summer day!
Especially my trips in Belgium have opened my eyes and taste buds to the sour beers. And despite the fact that the sour beers are a little more advanced to drink than the regular beers we know at home, this is where we expand our beer horizons and learn what beer can also be. The sour beers are also here, where people who do not like regular beers experience that they actually like beer.
A Kriek is a "Fruit Lambic", - a sour beer with cherries - that works great at a sidewalk café in Brussels when the sun is shining.
