Classic Belgian monk beer.

The aroma has warm, fruity nuances from the use of the genuine Belgian Trappist yeast. Full-bodied, slightly sweet taste that increases in strength and is added with additional flavor impressions of, for example, plums.

Copenhagen 22/3 2024. 50 cl bottle from Vinspecialisten Søndergade, Herning. Simple orange label with praise for the beer and mini-portrait of the mayor of Viborg Ulrik Wilbek and his passion for Trappist beer.

Pours clear copper with a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patch of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of dark fruits and alcohol. Dried plums, raisins and dark alcohol. Toffee and caramel. Whiff of brown sugar.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, flat texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong, sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a touch of alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Potent if somewhat flat.
