One of our specialty beers, this Belgian White Ale is a traditional Wit Bier. It has soft notes of citrus and spice, balanced by portions of un-malted wheat, making it an incredibly smooth and crisp drinking beer.

Brewery: G.C. Starkey Beer Company (Dundee, NY)
Type: Belgian Wit
Style: Wit Ale
Serving Type: from a tap to a tasting glass (4oz)
Color: bright yellow, medium head with good lacing, unfiltered
Smell: oranges, sweet mangoes, candied apples, grass, French bread
Taste: pineapple, oranges, buttered biscuits, slight mango spritz
Belgian Wit is a well-executed version of the style that has been defined by (European) continental beers. It is smooth and perfect for summer. BW pours nicely and maintains its lacing throughout. Slight swirling is needed to keep the beer hazy. The smell and taste are typical Belgian Wit. However, this would be a weaker version in my estimation. None of the flavors wow you; they’re just there for the ride. That's the problem, as I see it, with some of these wine-trail beers. They needn't be ashamed of being beer, step out and punch some wine in the face.
