Rare firkin made specifically for Philly Beer Week. This IPA is dry hopped with a new hop variety of Hallertau Blanc hops. Aroma is floral and fruity with passion fruit, grapefruit, pineapple, grape and lemongrass overtones. Tastes of citrus grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, and pines.

Outstanding. I am struck by how smooth yet tasty this Imperial is. Neither the alcohol nor the hops impose. There is nothing forward except a subtle creaminess (but not enough to disguise this ale's style). Everything else comes further back on the tongue and the offering should complement just about any paring or just a solo quaff when you are in the mood. If I could choose only one IPA, this would be it.
I was fortunate to fill a growler at the brewery from the last half they had. Hopefully SBC can be convinced to brew it again.
