This is a unique brew.
Very on spot for the traditional Boilo recipes.
It smells like Christmas.
The taste is of honey and a potpourri of holiday spices.
The 8.5% is perfect for the beer.
I really enjoyed it but I could only do one at a sitting. It's definitely holiday rich.
Great Winter Warmer though.

Poured into a wide mouth grip shaped goblet: color is gold, slight hze, head presents 1/4 inch thick and dissipates to nothing, thin ring along the glass sides.
Smell is nutmeg and cinnamon and allspice and citrus, more cinnamon with warmth.
Taste is more allspice and cinnamon forward with nutmeg and citrus backing.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness with lingering spiciness.
Overall a totally unique beer that seems to match the mystique of the Boilo legend - sweet, citrus, and spice.

16oz can into a pint glass. Best by 7/14/24, a very recent release by SBC.
Cloudy amber body with a short lived head. A few streaks of lacing. Aroma is nicely spiced, nutmeg seems to lead the way, with some citrus notes. On tasting, well, the flavors are strong, but very well balanced. More lemon citrus than orange, ginger and nutmeg notes, faintly sweet, and very warming. The finish is a warming spiced citrus wash.
I live in Schuylkill County, and have tasted a fair amount of boilo over the decades. This is a very good interpretation of the drink, just without the 4 Queens 101 proof whiskey. Brewer has this as a "strong wheat beer", though any wheat notes are impossible to find. Might be considered a wheatwine? Good drink nevertheless, nicely done SBC.
