Serving: 620mL bottle into pint(s)
Served: 17 Jan 2014
Appearance: Like other beers of this brewery, this one pours the same sickly almost greenish yellow. Looks closer to Mountain Dew when being poured than actual beer. Poured hard yields a 2 finger foamy white head that almost immediately disappears.
Smell: Sweet and 'beery'. Little to no skunk (must have gotten a fresh bottle!!)
Taste: Standard normal beer. Very sweet. Goes down super easy. Not much else to it. Almost water. Almost a thirst quencher.
Mouthfeel: Better carbonation than other beers of this brewery (esp. Huari) but still very thin.
Overall: Probably the best Bolivian beer I had and one that pairs excellent with a good Sil Pancho with some spicy Llawa, but other than that, I'd pass on Bolivian beers.

A underwhelming offering from an underwhelming brewery. I've definitely had better from the brewers of Paceña.
This beer slithers out of the can and gives off an unconcerned sparkly straw golden color. Which lead me to believe I was drinking Paceña under a different name. Not quite. Head ran away faster than a cat from water.
Smell is pure corn sugars. Period. End of sentence.
Taste is exactly what smell suggested.
Mouthfeel is spot on enjoyable carbonation in these mass produced lager styles.
Overall? Why are they making this beer? The can also sports the words "Urkupiña 2012" along with a picture of a woman with a too short dress dancing. She also has a derbe hat on. You needed to know that. Moral of the story? The virgin of Urkupiña is a holy figure in the Cochabamba, Bolivia area. So apparently Paceña has made this beer in honor of her. I'm not sure she would be honored.

Got this beer in a can from Cochabamba, Boloivia.
It poured a very light yellow with a white head building. Little lacing around the glass.
Almost no smell, but you can detect some grain.
The taste is grainy as well, with some citrus flavors existing.
The beer is very light , but also very thirst quenching, maybe something that is a good brew for a climate like Bolivia. You probably could drink fifteen of those cans and still be sober.

poured from an old can I brought back from La Paz a while ago. Settling out now. Just barely any yellow color. No aroma. Almost no flavor; just some corn sweetness. The body is mildly carbonated and just heavier than water. No finish. Nothing foul about it, for what that's worth.
