BeSte Bräu opened in Cochem in Spring 2011. The brewpub is in the former fire station on the ground floor of the multi-story parking garage near the northern end of the Kaiser Wilhelm railway tunnel.

Had a great time here when last in Cochem (May 2012), used it four or five times: met the owner/brewer Stefan, and his two trainee brewers, one being Australian (Micheal).
Had a good chat about their expectations and ideas. I was taken on a tour, just me, their first English speaking one, obviously by Micheal. He comes from German stock, so his German is fine, better than mine anyway!
The whole palce, brewery and pub area are brand new, bright and modern in design, black and red being the main colours on show. I can remember it being a second-hand store before the re-firbishment and change, they've done a very good job.
Only three beers available on my visits, but each one was different in style and in good condition.
The food looked good but we didn’t eat there.
Good addition to a mostly ’wine town’ and I hope it works out for Stefan and his team.
